We are very happy to finally release the 2.0 version of our Navigate CMS application.

This release contain a lot of bugfixes and improvements, which makes this version the most stable, updated and complete. Check the following list of highlights:

Theme Kit

We've removed the default theme included in the installation package (Ocean) and included a new one. You can also choose to not install any theme in the setup process.

Theme Kit is based on Zurb Foundation and Font Awesome to bring you a quick way to start a new website or even create your own responsive theme. It also makes use of the latest Navigate CMS features like block groups, nv conditionals, Foundation grid as theme fragments, etc.

TinyMCE 4

We have upgraded TinyMCE, the embedded WYSIWYG editor, to version 4. The previous version worked fine but was not being updated anymore. We've worked very hard to keep all previous functionality and plugins. We have also grouped some action buttons to keep the interface clean but still easy to use.

Another cool thing is that you can now drag'n'drop a file from your desktop directly to the editor without previously upload it in the Media browser. The choice is yours!

Editing elements' labels (tags)

The labels editor has been improved with the autocomplete function and a button to select the most used tags with a single click.

Extensions translations

You can now easily edit all translations of an extension in the Dictionary function.

NV tags

Many new functions have been added to nv tags (conditionals, paginator formats, Gravatar's images for comments authors, etc.). You can now even include them in the content editor (only in the {{nv}} form, not as tags). With these improvements, it's completely possible to write a full dynamic theme without a single PHP line of code. As always, you can get the complete nv tags reference in our cheatsheet.

The only drawback is that PHP 5.2 is not supported anymore. Navigate CMS 2.0 requires at least PHP 5.3.

As usually, you can view the full list of source code changes in our Bitbucket repository.

To auto update your Navigate CMS instance, sign in as an Administrator and access the Configuration > Update function. You may also download the update package from SourceForge and apply it manually.
