Navigate CMS functions
We've done our best to keep all Navigate CMS features organized. We decided to separate the application functionallity in logical objects like Website, Element, Block, File... and their respective functions to manage them. Users should be able to know which function they need to access to achieve what they want.
By default, we grouped functions by category, but an Administrator is free to modify that categories and display fewer options. In this documentation we are following the default grouping set in Navigate CMS.
There are four default function groups:
≈ Web
≈ Content
≈ Tools
≈ Configuration
Each group clearly states what its functions do:
- Web — define website properties, give a structure (website menu), install a theme...
- Content — work with editable content elements, upload images, manage comments...
- Tools — extra functionality like newsletters, webuser accounts, install and configure extensions...
- Configuration — configure Navigate CMS user accounts, update the application, set permissions...
In the near future we have planned a new group: Shop, which will treat every aspect of an online shop (Products, Orders, etc.).
